Whimberries are a small purple ground hugging fruit that has a special relationship with the Stiperstones and its inn.
You can pick the berries from late July to early October. They can be made into pies, muffins and crumbles or used to flavour ice cream or gin.
The fruit is supposed to have great health giving qualities including strengthening the heart and improving the eye sight.
Whimberry crumble has been served at the Stiperstones Inn for 50 years and has always been made with fruit picked on our hills.
